Cataract is one of the most important cause for the dimness of the vision in the elderly population. Cataract is a clouding of the normal clear lens in your eyes. Cataract can generally be seen, as an aging process but sometimes it is seen in children as well. People with the cataract present as a dimness of vision, sometimes people complain of difficulty in night driving. In children, they cannot tell you about dimness of vision but on eye examination we can see the whitening of the lens. Cataract in children is very crucial as it can hamper the development of the vision.
